D9 chart is mainly referred for spouse and marital life. Since marriage is an important sanskar of individual's life, marriage contains lots of information about one's future. Marriage can make or break one's whole life. Yes, its true for both girl as well as boy at least in india.
D9 is referred to check the strength of lords of D1 to doubly confirm the probable events. All the houses are mapped similar to D1. For example 1st house/lord will tell about spouse and over all married life; 4th will tell about happiness from marriage like wise.
