SHIVAY- A Must Watch Movie

Dan Brown says in Inferno - “The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis.” And so does Gita – None can remain neutral in the war of morality.

Girish Karnad, father of Sayesha Saigal says in Shivay –Most of us don’t bother to confront seeing evils like pedophiles in the society. He is an extra-ordinary man. Outstanding characterization of Shivay - a personified God, having his abode in Himalayas, a supreme Yogi, a Chillum smoker, ultimate virility unbound by the laws of society – demonstrated well by Ajay Devgan. His intoxicating eyes supported him well to justify the intensity of the intent.

Movie establishes the character in the beginning itself and demonstrated the father figure – Param Pita – who promotes adventure and rescues everyone in the avalanche. He is the supreme man who appreciates beauty, even make relations and commits. Saurabh Shukla makes fun of him saying – Oh Gandharva Vivah! Movie doesn’t hesitate to showcase the abstinence of the character from abiding the worldly law. He is sanyasi who never lives for luxury but loves his family.

Story takes a turn when he was drawn in a grave situation. The background soundtrack - नागेन्द्रहाराय त्रिलोचनाय भस्माङ्गरागाय महेश्वराय । नित्याय शुद्धाय दिगम्बराय तस्मै नकाराय नमः शिवाय - is enough to justify the fierce fighter who can keep himself hanging in the middle of nowhere. Shivay is not known for selective slaughter; his eyes are meant for mass assassination. The culling machine keeps viewers stuck to the seats as the establishment of good over evil takes place. The natural beauty takes viewers to Himalayas.

Shivay doesn’t show the protagonist getting married to the other available option, just the moment she ran with him for some time and first wife got engaged somewhere else. Ajay is intense in his actions and gestures as usual. All other are good wherever placed. In my opinion – A Must Watch Movie.
